Regular Season Round 10: Aris - Trikalla 82-63

Date: December 30, 2017
The game between closely ranked teams ended with 13th ranked Aiolos Trikallon's (2-8) road loss to twelfth ranked Aris (4-6) in Thessaloniki 63-82 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Aris. Aiolos Trikallon managed to win second period 21-20. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Aris looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Guard Spyros Mourtos (198-90) notched 14 points and 5 rebounds to lead the effort and the former international power forward Michalis Tsairelis (206-88) supported him with 15 points. Four Aris players scored in double figures. Even 15 points by American point guard Shawndre Jones (180-94, college: Richmond) did not help to save the game for Aiolos Trikallon. Serbian power forward Marko Tejic (209-95, agency: BeoBasket) added 11 points and 9 rebounds for lost side. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Aris moved-up to eighth place, which they share with 3 other teams. Aiolos Trikallon lost sixth consecutive game. They keep the thirteenth position with eight games lost. Aris will meet bottom-ranked Panionios (#14) in the next round where they are favorite. Aiolos Trikallon will play against Cretan Kings and hope to secure a win.
