Regular Season Round 29: Ehime OV - Toyotsu FE 93-82

There was a minor upset in Matsuyama where leader Toyotsu FE (16-12) was defeated by third ranked Orange Vikings (18-10) 93-82 on Saturday. Toyotsu FE was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was Vincentian power forward Nyika Williams (203-87, college: Pacific) who had a double-double by scoring 26 points and 11 rebounds. American forward Chehales Tapscott (195-90, college: Portland St.) chipped in 26 points and 8 rebounds (on 9-of-10 shooting from the field). American forward Herbert Hill (208-84, college: Providence) produced a double-double by scoring 12 points and 12 rebounds and point guard Kohei Fukuzawa (177-93) added 18 points and 4 assists respectively for the guests. Four Toyotsu FE players scored in double figures. Toyotsu FE's coach let to play eleven players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Orange Vikings maintains third place with 18-10 record having just two point less than leader Akita NH. Loser Toyotsu FE still keeps top position with 12 games lost. Orange Vikings will face Kagawa FA (#5) in Takamatsu in the next round. Toyotsu FE will play at home against the league's second-placed Fukushima (#2) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
