Regular Season Round 14: Zamarat - Araski 76-77

Date: December 30, 2017
Twelfth-ranked Zamarat (2-12) made lots of trouble for tenth ranked Araski (7-7) in Zamora. The visitors from Vitoria-Gasteiz managed to secure only one-point victory 77-76. However their fans expected easier game. Zamarat was ahead by 7 points after three quarters before a 22-14 charge of Araski, which allowed them to win the game. They made 17-of-18 charity shots (94.4 percent) during the game. American power forward Julie Forster (185-91, college: Albany) notched 19 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists to lead the effort and swingman Marta Tudanca (182-90, agency: ProDep Management) supported her with 20 points and 4 steals. Even 18 points and 7 assists by guard Marina Lizarazu (173-95, college: Iona) did not help to save the game for Zamarat. American forward Alisia Jenkins (186-94, college: S.Florida) added 11 points and 8 rebounds for the hosts. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Araski moved-up to eighth place, which they share with AE Sedis and Al-Qazeres. Zamarat lost third consecutive game. They keep the twelfth position with 12 games lost. Araski's next round opponent will be higher ranked Mann Filter (#4) in Zaragoza and it may be quite challenging game. Zamarat will play on the road against Gernika (#5) and hope to win that game.
