Regular Season Round 10: Atletico Nacional - Panteras 72-91

Another interesting game was a derby match between two teams from Panama City: Panteras (#4) and Aguilas (#6). Aguilas were smashed at home by 19 points 72-91 and even the fact of playing on their own court did not help. Panteras outrebounded Aguilas 43-29 including 29 on the defensive glass. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 25 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of British V.Islands center Lester Prosper (208-88, college: Old Westbury) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 27 points and 13 rebounds. Puerto Rican guard Jared Ruiz (188-92) contributed with a double-double by scoring 18 points, 7 rebounds and 10 assists for the winners. Daniel King (203-87, college: Texas Southern) replied with 20 points and 9 rebounds and Manuel Guevara (186-81) added 11 points in the effort for Aguilas. Five Panteras and four Aguilas players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Panteras (5-5) moved-up to third place, which they share with Universitarios. Aguilas at the other side stay at the bottom position with seven games lost. Panteras will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Aguilas' supporters look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Panama City to the arena Panteras.
