The game between closely ranked teams ended with 9th ranked Abejas' (9-15) road loss to eighth ranked Santos (12-14) 95-99. Santos players were unselfish on offense dishing 26 assists. The winners were led by American-Dominican Antonio Pena (204-86, college: Villanova) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 26 points, 11 rebounds and 6 assists and the former international power forward Arim Solares (202-83) supported him with 16 points and 9 rebounds. Even 18 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists by American guard Tomas Sanchez (190-91, college: Idaho St.) did not help to save the game for Abejas. His fellow American import forward Reginald Larry (198-86, college: Boise St., agency: Pro Sports) added 15 points and 11 rebounds for lost side. Four Santos and five Abejas players scored in double figures. Santos moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Aaguacateros. Abejas lost third consecutive game. They keep the ninth position with 15 games lost. Santos' next round opponent will be Panteras (#10) in Aguascalientes. Abejas will play on the road against Capitanes in Mexico and hope to win that game.
