An interesting game for Deportivo Valdivia (16-10) which hosted in Valdivia 3rd placed Universidad Catolica (14-13). Third ranked Deportivo Valdivia managed to get a 7-point victory 93-86. Deportivo Valdivia outrebounded Universidad Catolica 45-32 including a 19-7 advantage in offensive rebounds. Spanish Alvaro Calvo (202-83) nailed a double-double by scoring 31 points and 18 rebounds for the winning side and American-Nigerian Bryant Mbamalu (191-91, college: La-Lafayette) accounted for 22 points and 5 rebounds. Four Deportivo Valdivia players scored in double figures. American forward Aaron Nelson (203-91, college: S.Indiana) came up with 38 points (!!!) and 9 rebounds (on 14-of-17 shooting from the field) and the other American import guard Malik Morgan (193-94, college: Tulane) added 25 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for Universidad Catolica in the defeat. Deportivo Valdivia maintains third place with 16-10 record having three points less than leader Los Leones. Loser Universidad Catolica dropped to the second position with 13 games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
