Regular Season Round 6: Royal Eagles - Gorizont 57-67

Belarusian Gorizont has finally registered their first victory this season after five consecutive losses. The win is especially important as it came on the road game in Apeldoorn, where they defeated Dutch Royal Eagles (1-5) 67-57 on Saturday. The game without a history. Gorizont led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Gorizont forced 20 Royal Eagles turnovers. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Gorizont made 9 blocks. Russian center Anna Nuzhnaya (194-92) scored 13 points and 7 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and guard Natallia Anufryienka (174-85) chipped in 11 points and 8 rebounds during the contest. Four Gorizont players scored in double figures. Gorizont's coach used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. The best for the losing side was forward Laura Westerik (176-98) with 30 points and 9 rebounds and center Laura Steggink (184-97) scored 8 points and 6 rebounds. Despite that victory Gorizont went down to fifteenth position due to points difference, which they share with defeated Royal Eagles.
