Regular Season Round 16: Varese Robur - LTC Sangiorg. 56-63

No shocking result in a game when ninth ranked LTC Sangiorg. (8-8) beat on the road 14th ranked Varese Robur (5-11) 63-56 on Saturday. Varese Robur was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a very good performance for forward Luca Antonietti (197-94, agency: Octagon Europe) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 14 points and 10 rebounds. Swingman Luca Falconi (190-91) contributed with 16 points for the winners. Power forward Davide Rosignoli (203-88) replied with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 10 rebounds and Corrado Bianconi (202-94) added 13 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Varese Robur. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. LTC Sangiorg. moved-up to eighth place in B, which they share with Padova. Loser Varese Robur keeps the fourteenth position with 11 games lost. LTC Sangiorg. will face league's leader Omegna at home in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Varese Robur will play against Libertas (#16) in Livorno and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
