Bottom-ranked Samaheej is still unable to win any game. This time they lost on the road their 18th consecutive match to ninth ranked Al-Bahrain (6-12) 103-72. Al-Bahrain dominated down low during the game scoring 80 of its points in the paint compared to Samaheej's 40. They outrebounded Samaheej 56-24 including a 35-13 advantage in defensive rebounds. Al-Bahrain players were unselfish on offense dishing 25 assists. American forward Merrill Holden (203-93, college: Iowa St., agency: SDJ Sports) fired a double-double by scoring 36 points (!!!) and 16 rebounds (on 17-of-20 shooting from the field) for the winners. Fadhel Abbas chipped in a double-double by scoring 12 points, 12 rebounds and 5 assists. Coach 's team controlled all game and the coach could let to play all 12 players and allowed the starting five to rest. Hussain Busafwan produced 19 points and 4 assists and Mohammed Hameed added 11 points and 14 rebounds respectively for lost side. Five Samaheej players scored in double figures. Al-Bahrain maintains ninth place with 6-12 record. Samaheej lost their eighteenth game in a row. They still close the standings. Al-Bahrain's next round opponent will be higher ranked Al-Nweidrat (#5) in Nuwaidrat and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
