Regular Season Round 18: Coruna II - Marin 77-98

EBA top team - Marin (15-0) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed sixteenth ranked Coruna II (3-12) 98-77. The game without a history. Marin led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They also forced 21 Coruna II turnovers and outrebounded them 40-25 including 16 on the offensive glass. Marin players were unselfish on offense dishing 30 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by Coruna II's players. The best player for the winners was American power forward Tre Hale-Edmerson (206-92, college: CS Northridge) who had a triple-double by scoring 20 points, 10 rebounds and 11 assists. The other American import forward Desmond Simmons (198-92, college: St.Mary's, CA) chipped in a double-double by scoring 24 points and 10 rebounds. Four Marin players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was forward Larry Abia (195-93) who recorded 30 points and 9 rebounds (on 11-of-13 shooting from the field) and forward Ruben Rey (198-93) added 21 points and 5 rebounds respectively. Coruna II's coach gave up on the game allowing to play eleven players seeing no chance for a win. Marin have an impressive 15-game winning streak. They maintain first position in Group A-B with 15-0 record. Coruna II lost fifth consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the sixteenth place with 12 games lost. Marin's next round opponent will be league's second-placed Gijon on the road and it will be for sure the game of the week. Coruna II will play against Leon (#9) and hope to win that game.
