Rather expected game when 7th ranked Campobasso (7-7) was defeated on the road by fourth ranked Palermo (10-3) 59-47 on Sunday. Palermo forced 19 Campobasso turnovers and outrebounded them 40-25 including 25 on the defensive glass. Power forward Liliana Miccio (178-89) scored 21 points and 5 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and Francesca Russo (176-96) chipped in 18 points during the contest. Center Lucia Di-Costanzo (184-92) responded with 14 points and 5 rebounds (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line) and forward Giulia Ciavarella (183-97) scored 17 points. Palermo maintains fourth position in A2 with 10-3 record. Newly promoted Campobasso dropped to the eighth place with seven games lost. Palermo will face higher ranked Bologna (#3) on the road in the next round and it may be the game of the week.
