The game in Aanekoski was also quite interesting. Fourth ranked HNMKY U23 (9-4) played at the court of 8th ranked Aanekosken Huima (5-8). HNMKY U23 did not have too big problems and got a relatively easy victory 100-81 on Sunday. The guests trailed by 3 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 2-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 100-81. HNMKY U23 made 23-of-28 free shots (82.1 percent) during the game. HNMKY U23 outrebounded Aanekosken Huima 40-28 including a 28-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Aanekosken Huima was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. Forward Sami Tahvanainen (192-98) stepped up and scored 20 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners and Cameroonian forward Arsene Towa (193-81) chipped in 11 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists. At the losing side power forward Joni Pohjonen (203-98) responded with 21 points and 7 rebounds and point guard Henry Boyd (178-99) scored 14 points and 4 assists. Five HNMKY U23 and four Aanekosken Huima players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. HNMKY U23 maintains fourth place in Division with 9-4 record. Newly promoted Aanekosken Huima keeps the eighth position with eight games lost. HNMKY U23 will face HyPo (#7) in Hyvinkaa in the next round. Aanekosken Huima will play on the road against Aalto-Basket in Espoo and hope to win that game.
