Regular Season Round 12: Hapoel Holon - Hapoel T-A 85-79
Date: January 7, 2018
Rather predictable result when third ranked Hapoel Holon (9-3) won against at home 5th ranked Hapoel Tel-Aviv (6-6) 85-79 on Sunday. The hosts trailed by 4 points after three quarters before their 27-17 charge, which allowed them to win the game. The winners were led by American swingman Glen Rice-Jr (198-91, college: Georgia Tech) who scored that evening 21 points and 7 rebounds and the other American import guard Corey Walden (188-92, college: E.Kentucky, agency: KMG Sports Management) supported him with 14 points and 6 rebounds. Five Hapoel Holon players scored in double figures. Hapoel Holon's coach Dan Shamir used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. Even 24 points and 7 rebounds by American guard Jerel McNeal (190-87, college: Marquette) did not help to save the game for Hapoel Tel-Aviv. International Tomer Ginat (202-94, agency: Avi Zilberman) added 13 points and 7 rebounds. Hapoel Holon moved-up to second place, which they share with Hapoel J-M. Loser Hapoel Tel-Aviv keeps the fifth position with six games lost. They share it with Maccabi Rishon. Hapoel Holon will meet Hapoel Eilat (#8) on the road in the next round where they are favorite. Hapoel Tel-Aviv will play against Ironi Nahariya and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
