Regular Season Round 17: MBC - B.Muenchen 77-95

Leader Bayern Muenchen delivered the fifteenth victory on Sunday night. This time they beat 14th ranked Mitteldeutscher BC (5-12) 95-77 in Weissenfels. Bayern Muenchen dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Mitteldeutscher BC's 30 and made 23-of-29 free shots (79.3 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Mitteldeutscher BC 40-27 including a 32-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. Bayern Muenchen looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. American center Devin Booker (205-91, college: Clemson) stepped up and scored 24 points and 6 rebounds (on 10-of-12 shooting from the field) for the winners and Serbian guard Stefan Jovic (198-90) chipped in 8 points, 6 rebounds and 9 assists. Serbian swingman Djordje Drenovac (201-92) responded with 21 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists and American point guard Lamont Jones (183-90, college: Iona, agency: Stanislav Ryzhov) scored 15 points and 7 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Bayern Muenchen (15-1) have an impressive series of twelve victories in a row. They maintain first place. Mitteldeutscher BC lost fourth consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the fourteenth position with 12 games lost. Bayern Muenchen will meet at home ratiopharm Ulm (#9) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Mitteldeutscher BC will play against s Oliver Baskets (#10) and hope to secure a win.
