Bottom-ranked Worthersee Piraten is still unable to win any game. But it was rather predictable considering how strong their opponent was. This time they lost on the road their 14th consecutive match to second ranked UBC St. Polten (10-3) 91-33 on Sunday evening. UBC St. Polten dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Worthersee Piraten's 18. UBC St. Polten forced 26 Worthersee Piraten turnovers and outrebounded them 35-23 including 27 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists comparing to just 2 passes made by Worthersee Piraten's players. Forward Christopher Boeck (188-88) notched 20 points to lead the effort and the former international forward Martin Speiser (202-83) supported him with 14 points and 6 rebounds. Five UBC St. Polten players scored in double figures. Even 14 points by guard Lukas Simoner (190-99) did not help to save the game for Worthersee Piraten. Bosnian center Marinko Nakic (207-97) added 8 points and 5 rebounds for the guests. UBC St. Polten maintains second position with 10-3 record having five points less than leader Timberwolves. Loser Worthersee Piraten still closes the standings with 14 games lost. UBC St. Polten will meet at home KOS (#8) in the next round where they are favorite. Worthersee Piraten will play against the league's leader Timberwolves (#1) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
