Rather expected game in Beirut where 9th ranked Dutch Royal Eagles (1-5) were crushed by sixth ranked Lebanese Al Riyadi (5-1) 94-40 on Sunday. The game without a history. Al Riyadi led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Royal Eagles to just 6 points in third quarter and to 13 points in second half. Al Riyadi held Royal Eagles to an opponent 20.6 percent shooting from the field compared to 44.4 percent accuracy of the winners and had 25 for 34 from the free-throw line, while Royal Eagles only scored eight points from the stripe. Al Riyadi forced 26 Royal Eagles turnovers and outrebounded them 52-27 including a 34-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. Al Riyadi looked well-organized offensively handing out 29 assists comparing to just 9 passes made by Royal Eagles' players. Royal Eagles were plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. Guard Aida Bakhos (175-86, college: Lamar) scored 11 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists to lead the charge for the winners and American-Armenian center Brittany Denson (190-87, college: S.Florida, agency: Two Points) chipped in 10 points and 10 rebounds during the contest. Four Al Riyadi players scored in double figures. Al Riyadi's coach felt very confident using 10 players and allowed the starting five to rest. The best for the losing side was forward Laura Westerik (176-98) with 13 points and guard Meike Koelman (177-0) scored 5 points and 4 assists. Al Riyadi moved-up to third place. Loser Royal Eagles dropped to the fifteenth position with five games lost.
