Regular Season Round 19: Al-Ahli - Al-Muharraq 58-69

An interesting game for Al-Muharraq (13-4) which played road game in Manama against their biggest opponent Al-Ahli (14-4). Third ranked Al-Muharraq managed to get a 11-point victory 69-58. Al-Muharraq outrebounded Al-Ahli 45-34 including 31 on the defensive glass. It was a great evening for American center Jordan Richard (206-89, college: CS Los Angeles, agency: Slash Sports) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 14 points, 14 rebounds and 4 assists. Bader Abdulla helped adding 22 points and 4 assists. Four Al-Muharraq players scored in double figures. Al-Muharraq's coach Ivan Jeremic allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. At the losing side the former international forward Hesham Sarhan (-92) responded with 20 points and Canadian power forward Ryan Wright (206-87, college: Oklahoma) scored 8 points and 11 rebounds. Al-Muharraq maintains third place with 13-4 record having just one point less than leader Al-Manama. Al-Ahli at the other side keeps the second position with four games lost. Al-Muharraq will play against Isa Town (#11) in Issa Town in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Al-Ahli's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Manama Al-Ittihad.
