Regular Season Round 26: Las Animas - CDE Talca 95-70

Liga Nacional top team - Las Animas (22-5) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed fifth ranked Espanol de Talca (12-14) in Valdivia 95-70. Las Animas dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Espanol de Talca's 30. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists. American forward Arnold Louis (201-90, college: Savannah St., agency: HMS) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 15 rebounds. The other American import forward Brandon Robinson (198-89, college: Clayton St.) contributed with 25 points (perfect from downtown making all five shots) for the winners. Las Animas' coach felt very confident that he used 11 players saving starting five for next games. American forward Terrence Shannon (203-79, college: Elgin CC) replied with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 13 rebounds and David Gonzalez (180-86) added 19 points in the effort for Espanol de Talca. Las Animas have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 22-5 record. Espanol de Talca lost third consecutive game. Defending champion keeps the fifth place with 14 games lost. Las Animas' next round opponent will be league's second-placed AB Ancud on the road and it will be for sure the game of the week. Espanol de Talca will play against Tinguiririca S.F. and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
