Another exciting game for Minas (7-5) which hosted in Belo Horizonte against 4th placed Pinheiros (9-5). Eighth ranked Minas won 80-75. They made 19-of-25 charity shots (76.0 percent) during the game. Minas players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by Pinheiros' players. Pinheiros was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. Forward Wesley Ferreira (201-95) stepped up and scored 21 points (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) for the winners and the former international point guard George-Yeye Torres (188-91) chipped in 10 points and 11 assists. Four Minas players scored in double figures. At the losing side center Ralfi Ansaloni (211-87) responded with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 10 rebounds and American guard Cordero Bennett (188-88) scored 20 points and 5 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Minas maintains eighth place with 7-5 record. Pinheiros lost their third game in a row. They dropped to the sixth position with five games lost. Minas will play against SKY/Basquete (#10) in Aldeota in the next round. Pinheiros will play on the road against SKY/Basquete (#10) in Aldeota and hopes to get back on the winning track.
