Regular Season Round 12: MZT Skopje - Pelister Bitola 84-54

Very expected game when 10th ranked Pelister Bitola (3-9) was rolled over on the road by third ranked MZT Skopje (9-2) 84-54. MZT Skopje shot the lights out from three nailing 13 long-distance shots on high 56.5 percentage. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 26 assists comparing to just 8 passes made by Pelister Bitola's players. The winners were led by the former international power forward Bojan Trajkovski (208-88, agency: Mansfield and Associates) who scored that evening 23 points and 6 rebounds and the former international swingman Marko Simonovski (192-89) supported him with 18 points. Even 19 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists and 6 steals by American guard Rob Lewis (185-94, college: Queens, NC) did not help to save the game for Pelister Bitola. His fellow American import power forward Lonnie Funderburke (203-88, college: Tennessee St.) added 9 points and 10 rebounds. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. MZT Skopje have an impressive seven-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains third position with 9-2 record having five points less than leader Rabotnicki. Pelister Bitola at the other side dropped to the ninth place with nine games lost. MZT Skopje's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Skopje Shkupi.
