Regular Season Round 16: GTK Gliwice - Miasto Szkla 67-84

Not a big story in a game when 16th ranked GTK (4-13) lost to thirteenth ranked Miasto Szkla (6-10) in Gliwice 67-84 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 4 points at the halftime before their 44-23 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. It was a great shooting night for Miasto Szkla especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.4 percentage. American players dominated also this game. It was a very good performance for forward Jayvaughn Pinkston (201-91, college: Villanova) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 24 points and 12 rebounds. Power forward Peter Alexis (213-92, college: Thomas Jefferson) contributed with 13 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Four Miasto Szkla players scored in double figures. Point guard Quinton Hooker (183, college: N.Dakota) replied with 17 points and guard Jonathan Williams (190-95, college: Toledo) added 15 points in the effort for GTK. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Miasto Szkla maintains thirteenth position with 6-10 record. Newly promoted GTK keeps the sixteenth place with 13 games lost. Miasto Szkla will face league's leader Anwil in Wloclawek in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. GTK will play at home against AZS Koszalin (#14) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
