There was a surprise result when thirteenth ranked Hagen-Haspe (3-14) edged on the road higher ranked Salzkotten (6-11) 86-85 on Saturday. Salzkotten was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. American point guard Jeremy Lewis (185-86, college: St.Thomas, TX) fired 31 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Forward Oscar Luchterhandt (195-91) chipped in 13 points and 6 rebounds. Lewis is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Swingman Felix Wenningkamp (195-88) produced 23 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists and center Thomas Stukenberg (206-92) added 8 points and 12 rebounds respectively for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Hagen-Haspe moved-up to tenth place in West, which they share with Dorsten and Kamp-Lintfort. Salzkotten lost third consecutive game. They keep the ninth position with 11 games lost. Hagen-Haspe will face Bonn II (#13) at home in the next round.
