Regular Season Round 27: CDU Concepcion - Puente Alto 82-79

Important game to mention about took place in Concepcion. Third ranked Universidad de Concepcion (15-13) saved a 3-point victory at home edging 4th placed Puente Alto (13-15) 82-79 on Saturday evening. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Puente Alto. Universidad de Concepcion brought some defensive toughness making 7 blocks. It was a good game for Nigerian-American center Augustine Okosun (210-86, college: Keiser) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 25 points, 10 rebounds and 4 blocks. Venezuelan point guard Alexander Morillo (180-92) contributed with 17 points, 7 rebounds and 8 assists for the winners. American forward Jerome Hill (198-94, college: Gardner-Webb) answered with a double-double by scoring 16 points, 14 rebounds and 4 assists and the other American import swingman OLouis McCullough (198-82, college: Francis Marion) added 20 points and 4 steals in the effort for Puente Alto. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Universidad de Concepcion moved-up to second place, which they share with CDU Catolica. Puente Alto at the other side dropped to the fifth position with 15 games lost. Universidad de Concepcion will play against Tinguiririca S.F. (#6) in San Fernando in the next round. Puente Alto will play on the road against Espanol de Talca and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
