Very important is a road loss of third ranked Deportivo Valdivia (16-11) against fifth ranked CD Castro (10-18) on Saturday night. Visiting Deportivo Valdivia was crushed by CD Castro in Castro 103-76. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when CD Castro made 7 blocks. It was a great evening for American forward Rakim Brown (198-91, college: Humboldt St.) who led his team to a victory scoring 30 points and 6 rebounds. His fellow American import center Yamene Coleman (208-86, college: Troy) helped adding 18 points and 13 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. CD Castro moved-up to fourth place. Loser Deportivo Valdivia keeps the third position with 11 games lost. CD Castro will meet at home league's leader Las Animas in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Deportivo Valdivia will play against the league's second-placed AB Ancud and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
