Regular Season Round 16: Stelmet - Trefl 90-94

There was a surprise result when twelfth ranked Trefl (8-9) defeated higher ranked Stelmet Enea BC (12-5) in Zielona Gora 94-90 on Saturday. Stelmet Enea BC was tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. Trefl looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. It was a very good performance for American-Hungarian point guard Obadiah Trotter (188-84, college: Alabama A&M) who helped to win the game recording 24 points and 8 assists. The former international Filip Dylewicz (202-80) contributed with 20 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Four Trefl players scored in double figures. Montenegrin power forward Vladimir Dragicevic (206-86) replied with 37 points (!!!) and 7 rebounds (on 16-of-20 shooting from the field) and Serbian power forward Nikola Markovic (208-89) added 6 points, 12 rebounds and 5 assists in the effort for Stelmet Enea BC. Stelmet Enea BC's coach tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Trefl maintains twelfth position with 8-9 record. Defending champion Stelmet Enea BC dropped to the second place with five games lost. Trefl will face higher ranked Polpharma (#7) in Starogard Gdanski in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game.
