Date: January 13, 2018
Eighth-ranked Kings (5-16) used its home court advantage to challenge fourth ranked Adelaide 36ers (13-8) in Sydney on Saturday. The visitors from Findon managed to secure only three-point victory 104-101. However their fans expected much easier game. Adelaide 36ers made 27-of-32 free shots (84.4 percent) during the game. International swingman Mitch Creek (195-92) notched 30 points and 4 steals (on 11-of-12 shooting from the field) to lead the effort and the former international power forward Daniel Johnson (210-88, college: Pepperdine) supported him with 22 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Even a double-double of 22 points and 11 assists by American-Ukrainian point guard Jerome Randle (175-87, college: California) did not help to save the game for Kings. The former international swingman Brad Newley (199-85, agency: BeoBasket) added 21 points and 7 rebounds for the hosts. Five Kings players scored in double figures. Kings' coach Andrew Gaze rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Adelaide 36ers have an impressive five-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place.
