There was an upset when 4th placed UB Chartres (11-6) was defeated on the road by seventeenth ranked Lourdes-Tarbes (6-11) 81-73 on Saturday. The former international point guard Xane dAlmeida (181-83) stepped up and scored 22 points and 7 assists for the winners and Vincentian-Canadian forward Lien Phillip (203-89) chipped in 17 points and 13 rebounds. Five Lourdes-Tarbes players scored in double figures. Swingman Kevin Bichard (195-86) responded with 12 points and 7 rebounds and American forward Will Felder (201-91, college: Miami, OH, agency: Inception Sports) scored 17 points. Lourdes-Tarbes moved-up to fourteenth place, which they share with GET Vosges and SAP Vaucluse. Loser UB Chartres dropped to the fifth position with six games lost. Lourdes-Tarbes will face higher ranked Lorient (#8) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. UB Chartres will play against the league's second-placed Gries/Oberhoffen and will have a slim chance for a victory.
