Regular Season Round 28: CDE Talca - Puente Alto 84-90

We could consider it a predictable result in the game between close teams when fifth ranked Puente Alto (14-15) beat on the road one of their biggest challengers Espanol de Talca (13-15) 90-84. Puente Alto dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Espanol de Talca's 28 and made 18-of-19 charity shots (94.7 percent) during the game. It was a great shooting night for Puente Alto especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 57.1 percentage. Venezuelan forward Juan Coronado (203-90, college: Liberty) fired a double-double by scoring 18 points, 15 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Swingman Diego Valenzuela (185-94) chipped in 21 points (made all of his eight free throws). Four Puente Alto players scored in double figures. American forward Terrence Shannon (203-79, college: Elgin CC) produced 23 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists and Venezuelan center Javinger Vargas (202-90) added 10 points and 6 rebounds respectively for lost side. Puente Alto moved-up to fourth place. Defending champion Espanol de Talca dropped to the fifth position with 15 games lost. Puente Alto will have a break next round. Espanol de Talca will play again on the road against Puente Alto (#4) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
