The game in Rishon Le-Zion was also quite interesting. Second ranked Hapoel Jerusalem (10-3) played at the court of 6th ranked Maccabi Rishon (6-7). Hapoel Jerusalem defeated Maccabi Rishon 92-78 on Monday. The game was mostly controlled by Hapoel Jerusalem. Maccabi Rishon managed to win fourth quarter 21-20. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Hapoel Jerusalem shot the lights out from three sinking 15 long-distance shots on high 62.5 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. Slovenian center Alen Omic (216-92) fired a double-double by scoring 21 points and 16 rebounds for the winners. American Mark Tollefsen (206-92, college: Arizona) produced 15 points, 8 rebounds and 4 blocks and international point guard Avi Ben-Chimol (194-85) added 13 points and 5 assists respectively for lost side. Four Hapoel Jerusalem and five Maccabi Rishon players scored in double figures. Hapoel Jerusalem have a solid series of four victories in a row. Defending champion maintains second place with 10-3 record behind leader Maccabi T-A. Loser Maccabi Rishon keeps the sixth position with seven games lost. They share it with Maccabi Ashdod and Hapoel Eilat. Hapoel Jerusalem will meet at home Hapoel Tel-Aviv (#5) in the next round. Maccabi Rishon will play against Maccabi Ashdod and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
