Very expected game when 16th ranked Eagles (8-19) lost to third ranked Flying Leopards (20-7) in Qingdao 105-115 on Tuesday. Flying Leopards made 17-of-19 free shots (89.5 percent) during the game. Flying Leopards had a 36-24 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. It was a good game for American Lester Hudson (190-84, college: Tenn-Martin) who led his team to a victory with 32 points and 6 rebounds. The former international center Dejun Han (215-89) contributed with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 14 rebounds for the winners. American point guard Jonathan Gibson (188-87, college: N.Mexico St.) answered with a double-double by scoring 28 points, 8 rebounds, 10 assists and 5 steals and Central African-American power forward James Mays (206-86, college: Clemson) added 23 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Eagles. Five Flying Leopards and four Eagles players scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Flying Leopards moved-up to second place, which they share with Jiangsu D. Loser Eagles keep the sixteenth position with 19 games lost. Flying Leopards will face Gold Lions (#19) in Tianjin in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Eagles will play on the road against Leopards in Shenzhen and hope to win that game.
