Bottom-ranked Zenit-Farm managed to get a third victory, breaking the ten-game losing streak on Wednesday night. This time newly promoted Zenit-Farm edged tenth-ranked Kupol-Rodniki in Izhevsk 72-71. The winners were led by Grigory Motovilov (194-98, agency: Stanislav Ryzhov) who scored that evening 30 points and 5 assists and swingman Ruslan Tumanov (195-91, agency: Stanislav Ryzhov) supported him with 8 points and 5 assists. Even 17 points and 5 assists by point guard Ilya Podobedov (184-91) did not help to save the game for Kupol-Rodniki. Forward Mikhail Yudov (198-89) added 16 points and 6 rebounds. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Zenit-Farm (3-19) moved-up to thirteenth place, which they share with Ryazan. Loser Kupol-Rodniki dropped to the eleventh position with 15 games lost. Zenit-Farm will meet higher ranked CSKA 2 (#4) in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Kupol-Rodniki will play against Spartak St.Petersburg (#12) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
