Regular Season Round 21: Sitra - Isa Town 66-42

There was no surprise when 12th ranked Isa Town (2-17) was crushed on the road by tenth ranked Sitra (6-13) 66-42 on Wednesday. Sitra dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Isa Town's 26. They outrebounded Isa Town 51-31 including 36 on the defensive glass. American center Steven Toyloy (203-87, college: Cincinnati) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 24 rebounds for the winners and Iraqi Ali Abdulla chipped in 17 points and 10 rebounds. Four Sitra players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was Mahmood Aziz with 8 points and 8 rebounds and Sayed-Mohammed Habib scored 14 points and 5 steals. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Sitra moved-up to ninth place. Isa Town lost their twelfth game in a row. They dropped to the eleventh position with 17 games lost. They share it with Hidd. Sitra will meet higher ranked Al-Muharraq (#3) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Isa Town will play against Samaheej (#13) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
