Very important is a road loss of third ranked Shiga L-Stars (11-19) against sixth ranked Tochigi Brex (15-15) on Thursday night. Visiting Shiga L-Stars unexpectedly were defeated by in Tochigi 64-80. Tochigi Brex looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. American power forward Ryan Rossiter (204-89, college: Siena) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 11 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners and his fellow American import forward Jeffrey Gibbs (188-80, college: Otterbein) chipped in 18 points. The best for the losing side was American-Israeli center DOr Fischer (211-81, college: W.Virginia) with a double-double by scoring 15 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists and Australian forward Venky Jois (202-93, college: E.Washington) scored 23 points and 5 rebounds. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Tochigi Brex. Defending champion moved-up to second place, which they share with Toyama Grouses. Shiga L-Stars lost their fifth game in a row. They keep the third position with 19 games lost. Tochigi Brex will face Hokkaido L. (#5) in Saporro in the next round. Shiga L-Stars will play on the road against the league's leader Toyota Alvark in Tokyo and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
