Regular Season Round 20: Begastri - Sagunto 88-74

There was a small surprise in Cehegin where twelfth ranked Begastri (1-12) defeated 9th ranked Sagunto (5-8) 88-74 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Begastri. Sagunto was better in fourth quarter 18-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Sagunto 35-24 including a 28-15 advantage in defensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was forward Juan-Antonio Padilla (193-84) who had a double-double by scoring 19 points and 12 rebounds. Alvaro Bernal chipped in 15 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. Guard Luis Torrijo (184-93) produced 11 points and 7 assists and Dutch forward Jordan Kaspers (197-91) added 13 points and 5 rebounds respectively for the guests. Five Begastri and four Sagunto players scored in double figures. Sagunto's coach rotated ten players and allowed the starting five to rest. Newly promoted Begastri maintains twelfth position in Group E with 1-12 record. Loser Sagunto dropped to the eighth place with eight games lost. Begastri will face higher ranked UAF Lucentum (#11) in Alicante in the next round and it may be quite challenging game.
