Regular Season Round 17: Cagliari Academy - Givova Scafati 79-93

Everything went according to plan when third ranked Givova Scafati (11-6) beat on the road 10th ranked Cagliari Academy (8-9) 93-79 on Saturday. Givova Scafati looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists comparing to just 9 passes made by Cagliari Academy's players. Forward Nicholas Crow (199-89) stepped up and scored 23 points and 7 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) for the winners and American power forward Brandon Sherrod (198-92, college: Yale) chipped in 15 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. Five Givova Scafati players scored in double figures. American point guard Marcus Keene (180-95, college: Cent.Michigan) responded with 27 points and 9 rebounds and the former international guard Roberto Rullo (193-90) scored 20 points. Despite that victory Givova Scafati went down to fourth position (A2) due to points difference. Newly promoted Cagliari Academy dropped to the eleventh place with nine games lost. Givova Scafati will face Virtus Roma (#15) at home in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Cagliari Academy will play against Legnano (#5) in Castellanza and hope to win that game.
