The game between Top Four teams took place in Vilnius. Third ranked host Lietuvos rytas (16-4) smashed 4th placed Lietkabelis (13-7) 96-67. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Lietkabelis. The game without a history. Lietuvos rytas led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They shot the lights out from three nailing 17 long-distance shots on high 54.8 percentage. Lietuvos rytas players were unselfish on offense dishing 25 assists. Lietkabelis was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. American power forward Travis Peterson (208-85, college: Samford) nailed 24 points and 4 assists for the winning side and the former international guard Mindaugas Girdziunas (188-89) accounted for 18 points and 7 assists. Four Lietuvos rytas players scored in double figures. Latvian swingman Zanis Peiners (207-90) came up with 12 points and 8 assists and the former international Simas Jasaitis (202-82) added 8 points respectively for Lietkabelis in the defeat. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the eighth consecutive win for Lietuvos rytas. They moved-up to second place. Lietkabelis at the other side keeps the fourth position with seven games lost. Lietuvos rytas will play against Dzukija (#8) in Alytus in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Lietkabelis will play on the road against Neptunas (#3) in Klaipeda and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
