Bottom-ranked Kastela (0-12) is still winless. This time they lost on the road their 12th consecutive match to fifth ranked Split (8-4) 96-79 on Saturday evening. The game was mostly controlled by Split. Kastela managed to win fourth quarter 19-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Split shot the lights out from three sinking 15 long-distance shots on high 51.7 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. Guard Goran Filipovic (180-96) fired 23 points, 9 rebounds and 9 assists for the winners. American point guard Mike Scott (184-93, college: Idaho) chipped in 28 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Four Split players scored in double figures. Forward Dino Sipic (201-88) produced a double-double by scoring 23 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists and guard Nikola Dosen (190-91, agency: PEPI SPORT) added 24 points and 4 assists respectively for lost side. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Split. They moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Cibona. Kastela lost their twelfth game in a row. Newly promoted team still closes the standings with 12 games lost. Split will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Kastela will play against Alkar (#9) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
