Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both seventh ranked Civitanova and 8th ranked Matera had identical 9-8 record. This time Civitanova used a home court advantage and defeated the opponent from Matera 101-89 on Sunday night. Civitanova shot the lights out from three sinking 16 long-distance shots on high 55.2 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The best player for the winners was Alessandro Cassese (186-97) who scored 37 points (!!!) (on 13-of-16 shooting from the field). The former international guard Gennaro Tessitore (189-82) chipped in 25 points. At the other side the best for losing team was naturalized Argentinian swingman Franco Migliori (200-82) who recorded 26 points and 9 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) and swingman Leonardo Battistini (198-95) added 29 points and 6 rebounds respectively. Civitanova (10-8) moved-up to sixth place in B, which they share with Forli Tigers. Loser Matera keeps the eighth position with nine games lost. Civitanova will face higher ranked Campli (#4) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Matera will play against the league's leader San Severo (#1) and hope to win that game.
