Regular Season Round 15: Torino - Venezia 45-81
Date: January 21, 2018
The game in Torino supposed to be also quite interesting. Second ranked Venezia (11-4) played at the court of 8th ranked Torino (5-10). Venezia smashed Torino 81-45 on Sunday. Venezia shot 62.7 percent from the field. Venezia had a 27-12 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists comparing to just 7 passes made by Torino's players. It was a great evening for international point guard Debora Carangelo (169-92) who led her team to a victory scoring 15 points and 5 rebounds. The former international forward Valeria De-Pretto (185-91, agency: LBM Management) helped adding 14 points (perfect from the field making all seven shots !!!). The best for the losing side was American forward Sophie Brunner (185-95, college: Arizona St.) with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 11 rebounds and the other American import swingman Jasmine Gill (185-90, college: JMU, agency: Two Points) scored 12 points. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The victory was the third consecutive win for Venezia. They maintain second place with 11-4 record having just two points less than leader Familia Schio. Torino at the other side keeps the eighth position with ten games lost. Venezia will meet at home Ragusa (#3) in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Torino will play against San Martino (#6) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
