Eighth-ranked Vanoli Cremona (8-8) gave a tough game to third ranked Armani Milano (12-4) on Monday. Armani Milano managed to secure only two-point victory 82-80. However their fans expected much easier game. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Vanoli Cremona. Lithuanian forward Mindaugas Kuzminskas (205-89) fired 19 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. International power forward Davide Pascolo (201-90) chipped in 8 points and 7 rebounds. American swingman Kelvin Martin (195-89, college: Charleston So.) produced 20 points and 4 steals (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field) and his fellow American import point guard Darius Johnson-Odom (187-89, college: Marquette, agency: BeoBasket) added 9 points respectively for lost side. Four Vanoli Cremona players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Armani Milano keeps a position of league leader, which they share with Germani BR and Scandone AV. Loser Vanoli Cremona keeps the eighth place with eight games lost. They share the position with Banco di Srd. Armani Milano will meet Openjobmetis VA (#13) in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Vanoli Cremona will play against MIA-RO Cantu (#6) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
