Date: January 27, 2018
Rather predictable result when leader Marin (18-0) rolled over at home 5th ranked Innova Chef (9-9) 113-92 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Marin. Innova Chef was better in third quarter 32-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists comparing to just 14 passes made by Innova Chef's players. It was a good game for American power forward Tre Hale-Edmerson (206-92, college: CS Northridge) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 21 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists. His fellow American import forward Desmond Simmons (198-92, college: St.Mary's, CA) contributed with 25 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Five Marin players scored in double figures. American swingman Corey Raley-Ross (193-91, college: Buffalo) answered with 21 points and 7 rebounds and Senegalese center Alioune Senghor (200-96) added 20 points (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field) in the effort for Innova Chef. The victory was the eighteenth consecutive win for Marin. They maintain first place in Group A-B with 18-0 record. Loser Innova Chef dropped to the sixth position with nine games lost. Marin will face Leon (#5) on the road in the next round. Innova Chef will play against Ponferrada CDP and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
