Regular Season Round 15: AE Larissas - Marousi 82-83

A very interesting game took place in Larissa. This derby game ended with only one-point home defeat of 16th ranked AE Larissas (2-13) to tenth ranked Marousi (6-9) 83-82 on Saturday evening. Guest team only slightly avoided a big embarassment. AE Larissas was ahead by 3 points after three quarters before a 19-15 charge of Marousi, which allowed them to win the game. It was an exceptional evening for forward Giannis Papageorgopoulos (204-91) who led the winners and scored 16 points and 9 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field). Guard Christos Dakoulias (186-87) accounted for 18 points and 4 assists for the winning side. Forward Sotiris Gioulekas (203-79) came up with 13 points and 8 rebounds and point guard Kostas Saribalidis (182-87) added 17 points respectively for AE Larissas in the defeat. Five Marousi and four AE Larissas players scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. Newly promoted Marousi maintains tenth place with 6-9 record, which they share with Ethnikos. AE Larissas lost their twelfth game in a row. They stay at the bottom position with 13 games lost. Marousi's next round opponent will be Arkadikos (#14) in Arkadia. AE Larissas will play on the road against the league's leader Peristeri GS where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
