Regular Season Round 21: Mondragon - Zornotza 78-90

Very expected game when 14th ranked Mondragon (5-13) lost at home to second ranked Zornotza (17-1) 90-78 on Saturday. It was a good game for swingman Ander Garcia (194-89) who led his team to a victory with 18 points and 6 rebounds. American forward Duane Morgan (198-93, college: Adelphi) contributed with 15 points for the winners. Four Zornotza players scored in double figures. Guard Iker Barbero (192-92) answered with 21 points and 9 rebounds and American forward Justin Satchell (203, college: St.Leo) added 15 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Mondragon. Mondragon's coach rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. The victory was the eighth consecutive win for Zornotza. They keep a position of Group A-A leader, which they share with Estela. Loser Mondragon keeps the fourteenth place with 13 games lost. Zornotza will face Valle de Egues (#13) in Olaz in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Mondragon will play on the road against La Fecha in Arroyo Encomienda and hope to win that game.
