Regular Season Round 21: Medacbasket - Andujar 85-56

Not a big story in a game when 10th ranked Andujar (1-13) was outscored by third ranked Medacbasket (10-5) in Malaga 85-56 on Saturday. The game without a history. Medacbasket led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Andujar's 30. It was a good game for American forward Deshawn Curtis (198-92, college: Cheyney) who led his team to a victory with 25 points (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field). His fellow American import power forward Mike Middlebrooks (206-92, college: Adams St.) contributed with 18 points and 5 blocks for the winners. Five Medacbasket players scored in double figures. Point guard Eugenio Martinez (182) answered with 7 points and 8 rebounds and American guard Terrick Phillips (193-88) added 10 points in the effort for Andujar. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Medacbasket maintains third place in Group D-A with 10-5 record behind leader Marbella. Andujar lost their tenth game in a row. They stay at the bottom position with 13 games lost. Medacbasket will face Almeria (#6) on the road in the next round. Andujar will play against Unicaja-Andalucia (#7) and hope to win that game.
