Important game to mention about took place in Chartres. Seventh ranked Reims (8-7) saved a 2-point victory on the road edging 9th ranked Avenir (4-11) 61-59 on Saturday evening. Reims made 18-of-22 charity shots (81.8 percent) during the game. Strangely Avenir outrebounded Reims 47-26 including a 19-4 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a good game for guard Fleur Devillers (181-95) who led her team to a victory with 20 points. Point guard Clementine Morateur (176-95) contributed with 12 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Forward Rejane Verin (185-93, college: Cal-Riverside) answered with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 17 rebounds and Serbian center Milena Marjanovic (193-91) added 11 points and 11 rebounds in the effort for Avenir. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Reims. They moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Montbrison. Avenir lost their third game in a row. They keep the ninth position with 11 games lost. They share it with Arras. Reims will play against Arras (#10) at home in the next round. Avenir will play against SIG in llkirch-Graff. and hopes to get back on the winning track.
