Regular Season Round 22: Nishinomiya S. - Ryukyu GK 68-79

Not a big story in a game in Hyogo where 5th ranked Nishinomiya S. (7-25) was defeated by first ranked Ryukyu GK (25-7) 79-68 on Sunday. Ryukyu GK made 19-of-21 free shots (90.5 percent) during the game. The former international guard Ryuichi Kishimoto (176-90) fired 18 points and 5 assists (made all of his eight free throws) for the winners. The former international swingman Takatoshi Furukawa (190-87) chipped in 22 points. Furukawa is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Yu Okada (184-83) produced 17 points and 4 assists and point guard Noriaki Douhara (178-89) added 15 points and 5 rebounds (perfect from the field making all six shots) respectively for lost side. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Ryukyu GK have an impressive six-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 25-7 record. Newly promoted Nishinomiya S. keeps the fifth place with 25 games lost. Ryukyu GK will face league's second-placed Kyoto Hannar. at home in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Nishinomiya S. will play against Osaka Evessa and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
