Very expected game in Beirut where 6th ranked Al Moutahed (8-8) was defeated by second ranked Al Riyadi (13-3) 91-85 on Sunday. However just six-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. American center Chris Daniels (205-84, college: Texas A&M-CC) fired a double-double by scoring 13 points and 17 rebounds for the winners. The former international point guard Wael Arakji (194-94) chipped in 21 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists. American guard Demarius Bolds (193-84, college: Missouri Western) produced 25 points and his fellow American import forward Ricardo Powell (199-83, college: S.Carolina) added 17 points and 7 rebounds respectively for lost side. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Al Riyadi have a solid three-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains second position with 13-3 record behind leader Homenetmen. Loser Al Moutahed keeps the sixth place with eight games lost. Al Riyadi will meet Byblos (#9) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Al Moutahed will play against the league's leader Homenetmen in Beirut and hope to secure a win.
