Regular Season Round 17: KKL - Taiwan Beer 77-69

The game between closely ranked teams ended with sixth ranked KKL's (9-11) victory over bottom-ranked Taiwan Beer (6-14) 77-69. They outrebounded Taiwan Beer 45-34 including 32 on the defensive glass. KKL brought some defensive toughness making 8 blocks. American-Puerto Rican center Peter Ramos (222-85) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 35 points (!!!) and 25 rebounds for the winners and forward Yi-Jin Su (195-93) chipped in 11 points and 4 assists. Yu-lin Zhang responded with 16 points and 7 rebounds and the former international forward Tsung-Han Huang (193-94) scored 15 points and 5 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. KKL maintains sixth place with 9-11 record. Taiwan Beer lost fifth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom position with 14 games lost. KKL will play against league's leader Dacin Tigers in Taipei in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Taiwan Beer will play against Bank of Taiwan (#5) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
