Regular Season Round 21: Valencia II - Aldaia 57-63

There was a surprise result when tenth ranked Aldaia (5-9) beat on the road leader Valencia-2 (11-3) 63-57 on Sunday. The guests trailed by 13 points after first quarter, but they rallied back and won the game by 6 points. Aldaia forced 20 Valencia-2 turnovers. It was a good game for Diego Belarte who led his team to a victory with 19 points and 5 rebounds. Carlos Hortelano contributed with 11 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Jon Galarza (193-97) answered with 15 points and 8 rebounds and Luis Ferrando (185-96, college: Mount Olive) added 13 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Valencia-2. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Aldaia moved-up to ninth place in Group E, which they share with Sagunto. Loser Valencia-2 still keeps top position with three games lost. Aldaia will face Sagunto (#9) in Gilet in the next round. Valencia-2 will play on the road against the league's second-placed Gandia (#2) where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
