Regular Season Round 16: Amyntas Dafnis - Psychiko 82-65

Another interesting game was a derby match between two local teams from Athens: Amyntas Dafnis (#5) and Psychiko (#9). Amyntas Dafnis (10-6) smashed visiting Psychiko (8-8) by 17 points 82-65. The game was mostly controlled by Amyntas Dafnis. Psychiko was better in third quarter 23-20. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was a very good performance for point guard Leonidas Zoupas (182-82) who helped to win the game recording 13 points and 7 assists. Forward Spyros Diamantopoulos (197-83) contributed with 16 points for the winners. Four Amyntas Dafnis players scored in double figures. Center Nikos Tsiokos (207-91) replied with 19 points and 9 rebounds and point guard Thomas Nikou (185-80) added 12 points, 6 rebounds and 9 assists in the effort for Psychiko. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Amyntas Dafnis moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Apollon Patras. Loser Psychiko dropped to the eighth position with eight games lost. Amyntas Dafnis will face Ethnikos (#11) in Pireus in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Psychiko's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Athens Peristeri GS.
